Passions Reborn in Florence for SportMax

I just arrived back from a short business trip in Florence. I had the fortune to not be stuck in the city the entire time. Although I’m a huge fan of Florence itself, it is the rolling hills and magical landscapes I love most about that area of Italy.  If you ever have the opportunity to visit Italy, go to Tuscany, and see all that it has to offer. My suggestion is to not do the typical touristy suff, but rather try to read blogs from people who have real experiences and have great suggestions about where to go, what to see, and where/what to eat. The small little restaurants in the middle of nowhere and special views that can only be found by accident, or the scents that you can smell only during certain times of year are really what create such unforgettable experiences and emotions.

I tend to go to Florence twice a year. Mostly for business, but I sometimes stay an extra day to spend time with a dear friend and fellow fashion designer, Susanna Banchero. She has a home in Galluzzo- a small town about a 10 minute drive from Ponte Vecchio bridge. Anyway, every time I stay with her, I make a point of stopping by my favorite shop in the whole universe. Falciani, which is owned by a small gray haired beauty full of class, taste, and a big heart. She takes the time to show you all that she has available in her shop that is appropriate for you, and counsels you on your wardrobe in her thick Tuscan accent, not in a condescending voice, but rather in a generous way  that makes you feel beautiful and special. Every time I go there, I find myself not only wanting to buy everything she has in the shop, but also to hug the woman. I can only hope to be as grand when I become her age. Unfortunately, on this particular trip, I didn’t have but 30 minutes in her shop, too little time to do any damage on my credit card. Normally, that would be a good thing, but I can assure you, it wasn’t fun.  As I started to head out, she insisted on handing me a couple of look books for me to review before January sales- most likely the next time I’ll see her. I had noticed some SportMax items here around Milan, but the look book showed it all off.  I can honestly say that I haven’t seen a collection I love as much as this one. I know that it’s late to be writing about it, but great fashion is timeless (hahaha… nice excuse, right?)….

Sales are coming and SportMax, here I COME!!
